Jazz?
Anyone got some good jazz to recommend? I'm a big fan of Clifford Brown, Pat Metheny, Bill Evans and McCoy Tyner to name a few...
Re: Jazz?
I'm fairly familiar with Jazz...but I've mostly got the jazz-fusion stuff. What can I say? Too many other CD's to get. The jazz tends to get pushed to the wayside.
But, if you are interested in fusion stuff, I recommend Herbie Hancock's "Headhunters". Jazz with splashes of funk and use of synths. Probably one of his more famous ones. In the jazz/rock direction, Mahavishnu Orchestra's "Inner Mounting Flame". Lot's of different textures here. Kind of hard to explain.
If I knew more standard stuff, I'd be able to recommend something more in the direction you're asking for, but as it is, I don't. Some of the early Miles Davis, maybe?

Word dude, I'll have to give those a listen. I think I have Head-Hunters on my drive but I'm not too sure.. Didn't Steve Vai play with the Mahavishnu Orchestra?
Re: Jazz?
I don't know too much about jazz, but,...I know what I like and here is most of it:
Eva Cassidy Songbird
Myles Davis Kind Of Blue
Chet Baker Let's Get Lost
John Chiasson Here In The Moonlight
Hope that helps.
