King Crimson

Anyone else like them?

Really classic prog-rock from the '70s.

I've got four of their cds and I think it's really great stuff. Think darker (texturally) than Floyd and you're off to a good start.

Where would be a good place to start? Every time I'm browsing at Best Buy, I run across some KK cd's, but I've never picked one up. I always here about Court of the Crimson King...?

'In the Court...' is the best place to start. It should give you a good idea of what to expect from other stuff (allowing the fluctuation from album to album).

From there, if you like it, I'd go with 'Larks Tongues in Aspic' which really laid the roots from some later prog metal bands, IMO.

Oh yes! This layout is much nicer. It's soothing to the eyes...

Darker than Floyd intrigues me. I really like Floyd, so I can kinda imagine KK a little... Sounds very good!

King Crimson is gooooooood stuff man. I'd probably go as far as to say that it's good soundtrack music.

It's got a sort of ambient quality to it, I'd probably put it in a really obscure movie if I were to put a movie together... hah that's probably vague huh?

I've never known anyone to think of them as a soundtrack band. But at least you like them.

Usually a good idea to go with something you don't have. Pad out the collection a bit more. That's what I do anyway.
